The state of Michigan and local Flint officials poisoned Flint’s water supply and gave residents no option but to consume it, since there were no competing water suppliers to which they could turn. Now, the hacktivist group, Anonymous, has taken notice.

“The Flint water crisis has drawn the attention of Anonymous,” the message begins.
“The people of Flint are still being mailed bills” for this poisoned water, while the city “threatens them with eviction from their homes, removal of their children and placement of those children are in a state agency.”
As a result, “we will not stand idly by while you murder, poison and terrorize our brothers and sisters in Flint Michigan.”
They end by issuing a call to all “hacktivists, activists, trolls, protesters, marchers” and the like to tackle corruption in the Flint government on all fronts – whether behind the keyboard or on the streets.

If the people of Flint had sued a private corporation for doing the same thing to their water, they would have gotten a lot more money than this.
But there’s only one problem: they aren’t allowed to sue the government – even when that government poisons them.
Does this seem right to you? It doesn’t seem right to Anonymous either, and that’s why they’ve issued this call. Anonymous says there is no other option for justice other than direct action.
