10 Ways To Know If You Are An Emapth
by Ginny Marston,
An empath truly feels, and actually absorbs, others feelings and emotions. They are highly sensitive and can even feel the physical symptoms of others.
Empaths are prone to anxiety attacks, depression, and chronic fatigue if they do not learn how to protect themselves. They go through this life following their intuition and tend to have a difficult time with their own feelings as they are intertwined with those around them.
Here are some traits of an empath:
1. Highly intuitive – They just know things, more than just a gut feeling. They use their intuition to guide them through life.
2. Highly sensitive – They are great listeners, they love to hear about others and truly care. They are givers, very spiritual and nurturing, though they easily get hurt. Have you ever been told you are “too sensitive”?
3. Need quiet time – Due to the draining nature of an Empath, they need periods of alone time to recharge themselves. This prevents them from experiencing an overload of emotions.
4. Introverted– Being in crowds can overload the Empath since they become hyper aware of the large amount of emotions and feelings around them. The Empath prefers limited time spent in large groups or one to one contact.
5. Dislike violence – Empaths will avoid TV news and newspapers, anything that depicts violence or tragedy, as it is unbearable for them to watch. The more attuned the Empath is, the less likely they will expose themselves to this media.
6. Daydreamer – Empaths are creative and natural daydreamers. They can easily stare into space for hours and create their perfect world.
7. Free Spirit – Empaths love freedom, travel and adventure. They are truly Free Spirits.
8. Huge hearts – Empaths are the givers of the world. They are the ones that you know will be by your side through thick and thin. They are the ones to stop to give money to someone on the side of the road or bring soup to someone who is ill.
9. Loves Freedom – Empaths do not do well with structure, routines, or rules. They will begin to feel imprisoned if they find themselves in a job or relationship that is based on these.
10. Dislike Narcissism – Empaths are not tolerant of narcissistic behaviors or people. They cannot relate to someone who is egotistical and puts him or herself first.
So now that you know some of the key traits of an empath, how many of you are Empaths?
