Fortunately, humanity is still alive, humans are still compassionate, and a lot of truly religious human beings still practice the religion of peace and harmony. Hamza Osman Bakri was travelling on a bus from Ilford to Barking, when he saw an elderly woman fall and get her head stuck between the door and metal pole after the bus hit a dip in the road. An unidentified Muslim woman walked over and comforted her for 20 minutes until an ambulance arrived to help. Hamza captured the heartwarming moment and shared it on Facebook with the caption: “This is the real Islam.”
Facebook users have been quick to praise her actions.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Islamophobic hate crimes have increased five fold following the London Bridge attack on June 3. Recorded hate crime is up to 54 incidents a day versus a daily average of 38 for 2016; recorded hate crime with an anti-Muslim motive reached 20 versus a daily average of fewer than four last year.
